About liz612

I am a single Mom to a 13 year old son. He is an amazing boy, very sweet, caring, smart, and very invoved in church and at school. About a year ago I was laid off from a good paying job with great benefits. I looked at this as a positive thing as I had always wanted to teach school. I got the opportunity to start teaching part time at my son's school right after I was laid off. In August I started full time teaching. I love my job! But it has been a 75% paycut and no benefits for me. I struggle each month between buying food and paying the bills. Just when things start to look up, something else gets us down. Teaching has been a dream for me and teaching in a private Christian Performing Arts School gives my son the opportunity to attend school for free and do things he never would have had the opportunity to do before. His Dad has been out of the picture since his bith and I was able to get child support the first 6-8 years, but it has been a real struggle in the last few years. He owes me probably close to $25,000 in past child support. I tried hiring lawyers in the past, but ended up paying them more than I was getting. My son understands now that we have to conserve our money and be very very frugal. It is hard to explain to him, but he does real well with it. We moved into an apartment to reduce costs almost a year ago, but it has been a struggle to pay the rent on time. Each month I think I have caught up and then I get behind again. This month I told the office I would be late on my rent. The day I went to pay it I found out that they had filed eviction papers on me. My rent was only 12 days late and they will not take the regular amount. I have to pay the legal fees too before I can have this cleared up. I do not have these fees or the amount for the rent. I could not pay my car insurance or afford to pay for the inspection so I got a traffic ticket, which I am handling with the rent money, but that makes me short. I really do not know what to do. I have taken on a part time job for the school, sold my bedroom furniture, sold my washer and dryer. I have nothing left to sell. Any ideas where I can get help to pay this month's rent payment? If I can find help paying this month , I might actually be able to get caught up for once.
